Today is the last day of our tour. We had a guided tour of the city of
Rome. There are so much history to this place. At the
Colloseum, you can see the corridors underneath the arena were the gladiators
and wild animals were held before they were brought up to the center of the arena through an elevator. At the end of the guided tour, Mark, Tonia,
Yasmeen, Joe, Paige, and I went to the Vatican City. As we enter the
St. Peters Basilica, we saw
Pope John Paul conducting a mass. We're not so fortunate, though, visiting
the Vatican Museum to see the Sistine Chapel that day, since it was closed.
It rained later that day. And as we walked back to the Metro station, I heard someone calling my name from a distant. It's Kim. She said that she and Kelly got lost
and must have walked 100 miles. When it started raining, she saw a broken umbrella on the side of the street and picked it up. Then Kelly showed us their map and it's crumpled into
one ball of paper torn into small pieces. I was showing pity on the outside, but, inside, I'm on the floor laughing. Sorry guys, but it is a pretty hilarious sight!
At our
farewell dinner, I got to sit with Mark, Tonia, Joe, and Paige, the very first people I've met on the tour. Chris lead the toss to Vannesa and Enzo for a job well-done.
What a fun night, but also a bit sad. Our trip had finally come to an end. Though, I still have another day in Rome, most of my friends are flying back home tomorrow morning.
I'll definitely miss a lot of people on this trip.
